advice where to go for hiking trail recommendations?

I go to a bike shop? Where can I go to ask advice and maybe buy a book Trail / card?

I have not answered that question last night because I'm not sure if Looking for hiking or biking or mountain bike, or a combination of the above? I also have no idea where you live or your circumstances or interests. In general, here in California, can find information online walking route, especially for regional parks, provincial and national, often with maps of trails and Recommendations PDF and sometimes track trail guides. I know some sites and if I know a place, I did Google search and, often, people have written their descriptions of trekking in this area. But if you really want to learn about the best trails in an area that always buy one or more guides that usually come with maps of the trails, but a map topographical descriptions and detailed way. Desert is my favorite company press Trail Guide. There are books to entire regions, such as the Sierra Norte "or specific books, such as "Snowshoe Trails of Yosemite". http://www.wildernesspress.com/
