Where can I find a cheap hiking poles ?
I’m a beginner and having a hard time walking on snow in the mountain. The cheapest pair of poles I can find is $79. Which is not bad, but need some advise..Thank you-
If you’re slipping on any dangerous slopes covered in hardened snow, you should carry an ice ax and consider wearing crampons, but if by “difficult” you mean you’re sinking in the snow, then you want to wear snowshoes?
Adjustable poles do cost that much, though they’re sometimes on sale. Here’s a pair of adjustable trekking poles for $34.97 http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,98776_Komperdell-Denali-Trekking-Poles-Paired-PE-Grip.html But you can probably buy used ski poles for less than $10 at Play It Again Sports or garage sales.
