hiking kutztown
Anyone that hikes around Kutztown, Pennsylvania?

It’s a long shot, but if anyone hikes near Kutztown, PA, where do you go? I need somewhere between Kutztown and Reading.

(I don’t live or hike near Kutztown, but I did a little searching on the Internet.)

Both Kutztown and Reading are in Berks County. The Berks County Highpoint is Blue Mountain (1680+ ft.). It is near the Appalachian Trail, which apparently goes through Berks County. Depending on your experience, you have two possibilities. You could look up the AT, find a trailhead in or near Berks County, and do a hike on the AT. If you are good with a map and compass, comfortable with going off-trail in the woods, and are not going alone, you could try bushwhacking to the top of Blue Mountain. It sounds like Blue Mountain is flat and featureless, so this might not be too exciting — but it is in Berks County.
